Powerful Movement
The initiative spearheaded by ShortsTV and Vnieuws.nl represents an exceptional example of how the world of entertainment and media can be harnessed to bring about positive change in society. “UNwomen& Movies” is not just a partnership; it is a powerful movement aimed at making the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) not only understandable but also actionable for citizens and companies across Europe.
One of the most commendable aspects of this collaboration is the production of a quarterly TV broadcast that reaches audiences through ShortsTV and ZiggoTV. These broadcasts serve as an invaluable tool in bridging the gap between the UN’s SDGs and the general public. They offer a unique blend of education, inspiration, and entertainment, providing viewers with insights into the global issues that affect us all and, more importantly, practical ways to get involved and make a difference.

What sets “UNwomen& Movies” apart is its holistic approach to engagement. It doesn’t stop at broadcasting; each program is thoughtfully linked to an event, creating a platform where we, the audience, and our partners can collectively contribute to and participate in the most beautiful UN events, both on a national and international level. This powerful synergy enables us to transcend the confines of traditional media and engage with the SDGs in a tangible and meaningful way.
Together with partners AbnAmro and CodeV and The Female Leadersclub we organized a TVshow about Investing in Women. Our conslusion is Equal distribution of financing could generate up to €139 billion in additional economic value for the Netherlands every year. Whay we could do is yo;
• Improve and standardize gender data registration in financing.
• Encourage female entrepreneurs to apply more often and for higher amounts.
• Raise awareness among financiers during application, assessment, and allocation.
• Encourage financiers to proactively and visibly engage with female entrepreneurs.
